Cracked Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchangers: what is it?

When the heat exchanger is cracked the air that is going into your home had the potential to no longer clean and free of chemicals. When the heat exchanger is cracked, there is potential for carbon monoxide to leak into your home. This can be very dangerous and lead to toxic air leaking into your home.

So, what do you need to do?

1) Ensure that you have the proper amount of carbon monoxide detectors, and that they have working batteries (Call us if you have any questions regarding carbon monoxide detectors).

2) Ensure that you get annual maintenance. This will allow you to feel comfortable knowing your system is not only running properly, but that the air you are breathing in your home is safe and free of chemicals.

3) Know your systems age! Typically if your system is over 15 years old, then your system is at risk for being cracked.
