Taking Control: Upgrading Your Thermostat
Tom Fricker HVAC top three thermostat choices:
Carrier COR, Bryant CONNEX, and The Ecobee (pictured from left to right)
In this post, I wanted to reflect on our top three go-to thermostats when our customers ask which we prefer/which to install with their new system. I took a look at the top three that we prefer to use and came up with the thermostats pictured above. The owner of Tom Fricker HVAC (Tom Fricker) prefers to use these thermostats to install in our customers homes, as well as in his own home. He uses the Ecobee thermostat and his whole family, including him, could not be happier with it!
So, what's the difference?
Carrier COR
Features include: Programmable, WIFI enabled, and a Digital thermostat touch screen
What is it designed to do? It allows you to program and set the temperature from you mobile device while you are away from your home, save on energy costs, and have more control over your heating and a/c system's costs.
Benefits? Reduced energy: the thermostat will show you monthly reports on how much energy $$dollars$$ is being saved (how cool is that?)! And if you notice that you are not saving as much as you would like to, have no fear it provides you with tips to help improve energy saving.
Can you use it? The Carrier COR thermostat is, are you ready for this, compatible with other HVAC systems. If you are interested in using this thermostat, just give us a call and one of our awesome technicians will come out to see if this thermostat is compatible with your system!

Bryant CONNEX
Features include: Manages temperature and fan speeds, WIFI enabled, Sends Reminders, Digital thermostat touch screen
What is it designed to do? Sitting on your couch or sitting on a beach, you can control your Bryant CONNEX thermostat settings/temperatures. Will warm or cool your home according to your chosen settings and outside temperatures. It can also adjust the humidity to your comfort level, even if its a perfect 73 degrees outside! Allows you to set a schedule so that the thermostat adjusts to your comfort. And, one of the better features in my opinion: it reminds you when you need your filter(s) changed (no more setting a reminder on your phone's calendar)!
Benefits? Helps with saving money on energy costs!
Can you use it? This thermostat is only compatible with the Bryant Evolution Series
System.

Ecobee 4
Features include: Room sensor's, Amazon's Alexa, On-the-go temperature control, Sends alerts, Digital thermostat touch screen
What is it designed to do? Room sensors allow the thermostat to manage hot or cold spots throughout your home (the rooms with installed sensors) to ensure constant comfort, Alexa (Amazon) assists you with voice command options to help you when your hands are too busy. If you do not like this option or need a break from Alexa (Amazon), the thermostat has a "privacy mode) that allows you to shut off Alexa, the Ecobee mobile app allows you to adjust your home's temperature from anywhere, you will be alerted on your mobile device when there is something wrong with your system or just need a reminder to get your yearly service.
Benefits? Save on your heating and cooling each year with the Ecobee
Can you use it? Yes, most all systems are compatible with this thermostat, but you need to have a PROFESSIONAL install if you want to experience all of the features and benefits listed. The thermostat described is the professional Ecobee 4.

Overall, all of these thermostats seem to have a common theme: save on home energy costs, wifi-enabled, touch screen, control your homes temperature on-the-go and quality control. The only MAJOR differences I noticed: The Bryant CONNEX thermostat is only compatible with the Bryant Evolution Series, and The Ecobee 4 has the ability to link with Amazon's Alexa. I hope this summary of our favorite thermostats helped you or motivated you to upgrade your thermostat, and take control of your home's heating and/or cooling!
*For any of the thermostats listed, we strongly recommend a professional install in order to ensure quality and proper installation*
